Entry 4 : Looking for Alaska
The reason I choose this book is because John Green has written several books that were highly recommended to me. Looking For Alaska is about highschoolars finding out who their friends are and who they can and can’t trust, kinda like how we are now. When the friends find out that Alaska died in a car accident it leaves them all asking questions of why and what they could have done to stop her. That what I do when me and my friends do something we probably shouldn't be doing and we get caught and all you can do is think why you did it and what you could have done to stop it. I recommend this book to all young adults it helped me realize that you can never take life for granted cause you can be gone in a blink of an eye. Also it made me realize that you think you know someone, but you really don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes with their family and their life.
Entry 3 : Looking for Alaska
The The area of the book where I got hooked to was where the regulars plotted a plan to get back at the weekday warriors for kidnapping Pudge and duck taping him and throwing him into the water. They constructed a plan for pranking the weekday warriors. They had itineraries, with exact times, synchronized watches, and their clothes were black. They met in a barn with all their gear along with 5 bottles of Strawberry Hill alcohol, they split up to go to their destinations.
One group lit fire works, they were the distraction for the eagle, another group snuck into the eagle’s house to break into the computer to send progress reports to the weekday warriors. Miles also went into the weekdays warriors’ rooms and replaced their hair gel and conditioner with an industrial strength blue hair dye. When I was reading this part I immediately thought of Big Fat Lire, because the guy in the movie whole body turned blue. They met back at the barn to drink the Strawberry Hill and talk about their best and worse days of their lives.

Entry 2 : Looking for Alaska
Miles is a skinny kid from Florida who decided to go to Culver Creek mostly because he had no friends in Florida and he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps. He liked to remember the last words for famous authors and poets… I’ve never met someone that likes that. Chip had a deep voice and he liked to memorize country populations…That I have never herd before. He is from New Hope, Alabama he is attending Culver Creek on a scholarship his parents are divorced. He is best friends with Miles and they are roommates. Alaska is from Vine Station, Alabama, she was petite, curvy, had blond hair and green eyes.
Alaska’s room consists of GIGANTIC stacks of books everywhere. She was the supplier of cigarettes and alcohol at Culver Creek. She is attending Culver Creek on a scholarship, like Chip. Her mother passed away when she was young. Alaska is also likes to plan pranks on other students, but mostly the weekday warriors. She has a boy friend named Jake. Alaska is looking for the meaning of labyrinth… I don’t understand why. Chip and Alaska explain to Miles the ins and out of Culver Creek, they have nicknames for everyone and they got each other’s backs.

Entry 1 : Looking for Alaska
The three main characters in my book are Miles, Chip, and Alaska. Miles and Chip both have nicknames, Miles is known as Pudge and Chip is known as the Colonel. The reason they call Miles Pudge is because he’s skinny…doesn’t make sense, it was given to him by Chip. The 3 friends met at a Boarding School in Alabama called Culver Creek. Miles’ father attended and he liked the idea of Miles following in his footsteps. Culver Creek is 15 miles south of Birmingham, Alabama its hot sunny and humid. The Dorm room was a box with cinder block walls coated with layers of white paint ,green and white checkered linoleum floor, a bunk bed, a desk, a dresser, and book shelves that were attached to the walls and not to mention no air conditioning.
This would be a terrible place to live. The campus had 6 one story buildings arranged in a hexagram around a large circle of grass. The conflict that the 3 friends had was trusting each other. There are 2 groups of people that attend the Boarding school, the regular boarders who stay they there everyday except holidays and summers, and the weekday warriors who are all the rich kids who go back to their mansions in Birmingham every weekend… those are the cool kids, and the regulars don’t like them this is another conflict in the book.
and the regulars don’t like them this is another conflict in the book.

Reflection
Krista Ramsey post
I chose to do my reflection on my Krista Ramsey post because I thought this was my best post. In the post I used quotes to show that T.Y Hilton was a good person. "Hilton had charmed fans after his third-quarter TD run by cradling the football and rocking it tenderly, a reference to Eugenia Emma Hilton – "G.G." – who was born Sunday morning, three weeks early". This was the quote I used. In this post I related to my own life. I used a link to the original article and I left 3 questions for the author. I believe that this showed I have been doing my blog post and met the in-depth analysis expectations.

A day in the life- Spanish
Entonces me dirijo a casa y ducha. Relájate un poco y la cabeza fuera a la cama para despertar y hacerlo todo de nuevo al día siguiente .

Baseball's 6th Tool (3-4)
This past week, I've been continuing my read about Baseball's 6th Tool. The book talked about being in a "Flow State", which means not thinking about the task at hand and just doing it with out thinking about it. In the past couple of games I've been trying to not over think the situation or scenario. The first game I tried to apply this technique to my game, I hit a walk of to sweep Fairfield. This book is filled with great techniques to help you improve your game.

Baseball's 6th Tool
I've currently been reading Baseball's 6th Tool. This is a great book so far. I started reading this at the start of the baseball season. I've already taken tips from this book and used it in my game to make me better that day. This book talks about the mental side of baseball. Hints the ''6th tool". This book is a great read if your looking for a book. Cant wait to read more.

Baseball's 6th Tool
This is my independent reading book. I'm choosing to read this because baseball just started and it's a great book to read through out the season. It talks about the mental side of the game and how to be at your best most of the time. I look forward to reading this book and improving my mental game.

Example Of Satire
This is an example of satire because it is making fun of schools by saying that kids go to school and get fat and lazy because of the food they are eating. The artist picture comes off amusing because it shows kids walking into a soda and candy machine, titled school at the top. and come out completely overweight.

T.Y. Hilton is good player, great dad review
Recently I read an article written by Krista Ramsey. This article expressed how a good football player was also a great father. T.Y. Hilton, wide-reciever for the Indianapolis Colts, scored a 73-yard touchdown. Hilton before the game said he wanted to score a touchdown for his new baby daughter, and thats exactly what he did. After he scored he cradled the ball like he was holding his baby daughter. A touchdown dance that he certainly won't forget.

The best written line in her article is "Hilton had charmed fans after his third-quarter TD run by cradling the football and rocking it tenderly, a reference to Eugenia Emma Hilton – "G.G." – who was born Sunday morning, three weeks early". I believe this line impacts the reader because of diction used. It uses power words like "charmed" and "tenderly".
Ramsey writing style is a very powerful and meaningful way of writing. She gets her point across by using strong diction. Three questions i would want to ask the writer is;
How do you decide the word you want to use for a particular sentence?
How many times do you check over your writings?
Who do you base your writings after?
